Saber Irregular Spanish Preterite Verb

These are Spanish saber (preterite tense irregular verb) printable worksheets. This set includes three different worksheets with helpful notes, fill-in-the-blank activities, sentence rearranging and circling tasks, matching, writing prompts, and a word search. An answer key is included, along with vosotros forms. The PDF prints clearly in both black and white and color.

This resource has been a valuable tool in my classes and supports students as they build understanding of key Spanish grammar concepts. It can be used with Spanish 1 students and up and also works well as a review for higher levels, including Spanish 2–4.

Saber preterite conjugation

Saber is irregular in the preterite tense. It uses the stem sup- with the endings -e, -iste, -o, -imos, -isteis and -ieron:

yo supe
tú supiste
el / ella / usted supo
nosotros supimos
vosotros supisteis
ellos / ellas / ustedes supieron

In the preterite, saber often means found out or learned, the moment someone came to know something. Example from the worksheet: Ella supo que su vestido no estaba listo (She found out that her dress was not ready).
